Frequently Asked Questions

Is acupuncture safe? Does it hurt?

Yes — acupuncture is very safe when performed by a licensed, trained practitioner, using sterile, single-use needles. Most people feel little more than a light pinch, if anything, as the needle is inserted, followed by a sense of deep relaxation during the treatment itself.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends entirely on what you’re being treated for and how long you’ve been dealing with it — some people notice a shift after one or two visits, while longer-standing or more complex concerns (like fertility or hormone support) usually benefit from a series of visits over a few months. We’ll talk through a realistic plan together at your first visit rather than lock you into anything up front.

Is this covered by insurance?

Acupuncture and naturopathic medicine in Sweden are generally private-pay and aren’t covered by Försäkringskassan. If you have a private supplementary insurance plan (sjukvårdsförsäkring), check with your provider — some plans do cover visits like these. I’m also happy to provide a receipt you can file with your employer for a friskvårdsbidrag (wellness allowance) — I’m just not currently part of the Epassi network.

What conditions do you work with?

The areas I see most often are fertility, hormone balance, perimenopause and irregular menses, burnout and stress, pain, and digestive issues — though with 15+ years of clinical experience, naturopathic medicine and acupuncture can support a much wider range of concerns. At their core, both are about improving your overall quality of life — whether that’s headaches, fatigue, frequent colds, or PMS — so you can feel like yourself again and spend less energy on what’s holding you back, and more on what you actually want to accomplish. If you’re not sure whether your situation is a fit, feel free to reach out before booking.

Do you see patients online, or only in Stockholm?

Both. In-person visits are at Kommendörsgatan 9 in Stockholm; online consultations are available for anyone, wherever you’re based, and cover everything except hands-on acupuncture itself.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Just yourself, comfortable clothing, and any recent relevant lab results or medical history you think would be useful — though nothing is required in advance.

Do you prescribe herbs or supplements?

Yes, when appropriate — high-quality herbs and supplements are often part of a treatment plan, personalized to your visit rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.

How do I book, or change/cancel an appointment?

Booking is done directly online, with real-time availability and exact current pricing, via our booking page. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 24 hours’ notice.

What payment methods do you accept?

Card, Swish, and invoice.
