About

I am highly qualified to help you heal, but more on that below.  First you should know that I truly care for my patients.  I enjoy learning about the world through my patients and their life experiences.  I listen to your story, and I hear what you want to change in your health and life.  It is a privilege to help you write a new chapter of health, to add to the rich story that is your life.  What a joy it is to meet the babies I helped hopeful mamas conceive, to see life come back into bodies that ache, and to seeing the relief of finding answers to perplexing health questions.  I look forward to meeting you.

Why chose me?  Because I have a unique skill set that you will not find anywhere else.  Through my extensive studies and clinical practice over the last fourteen years, I have developed a practice that synthesizes modern, evidence-based medicine with the wisdom of Classical Chinese Medicine to provide effective and individualized treatments that treat the root of disease, rather than a collection of symptoms.  By teaching you how to optimize your health, I give you the tools to optimize your life.

I have extensive education, experience, and training in Chinese Medicine and Western natural medicine that allows me to expertly integrate care from both philosophies.   I am a American-licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) and herbalist who holds both a Masters in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine (ND) from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

I came to natural medicine at a young age and have never lost my passion for using the power of our bodies and the natural world to heal and support health and wellness.   I love to cook and eat well, and have seen the power of food as medicine, particularly in conjunction with other supportive therapies.

A masters in Oriental Medicine provides me with deep knowledge of Classical Chinese Medicine, including Chinese herbs and acupuncture techniques, to not only address pain and illness, but to provide effective, safe and alternative solutions to difficult and persistent conditions. I have a particular passion for Japanese acupuncture and is continually advancing my studies to bring this inspired and effective medicine to her practice.

With a doctorate in Naturopathic medicine, I have a unique set of skills and tools to treat both chronic and acute illnesses. Grounded in biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, pathology and nutrition, this education utilizes in depth personal history, physical exam and laboratory testing to assess and treat individuals from a functional-medicine model rather than a disease-based model. This allows her to not only see how illness and dysfunction affects the whole body, but also how to restore and optimize proper function to the body, resulting in improved well-being including energy, sleep and mood.

Outside of the office I am a wife, and a parent of two young kids, and nature explorer and always attempting to balance it all gracefully.  I love to get outside, particularly near the coast, and am passionate about locally grown food and amazing tacos.
